Ice Park Eilat with shopping centre
A Hidden Oasis:
Eilat's Ice Rink Adventure
Nestled at the crossroads of Israel, Egypt, and Jordan, the resort town of Eilat lies amidst the stunning backdrop of the Negev Desert. Despite the arid landscape, Eilat boasts an unexpected marvel: an expansive ice rink seamlessly integrated within a bustling shopping mall. Spanning an impressive 1,800 square meters, the Olympic-sized ice surface takes center stage, surrounded by two levels of boutique shops arranged in a ring-like fashion. WIEHAG's challenge? Crafting a colossal domed roof measuring 105 meters in diameter and covering an area of 8,700 square meters – all in timber construction.
From structural design and 3D modeling to meticulous planning, production, transportation, and on-site assembly, WIEHAG orchestrated every aspect of this ambitious project. Demonstrating our penchant for venturing into uncharted territories, we navigated through local regulations, administrative hurdles, and collaborated seamlessly with tax and customs authorities to bring this architectural feat to fruition.
The Eilat Ice Rink epitomizes WIEHAG's commitment to pushing boundaries and embracing technical challenges head-on. As long as the project promises grandeur and innovation, no obstacle – be it geographical or logistical – can deter us from realizing our vision.
